Support Services Available Locally
Island Health offers a variety of healthcare services for residents, clients and patients. With a focus on accessibility and therapy, Island Health is dedicated to delivering quality disability services throughout Vancouver Island.
The Society of Organized Services (SOS) is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968.
Inclusion Parksville supports adults with diverse abilities (developmental disabilities) in District 69 (Bowser to Nanoose on Vancouver Island) through innovative programs and advocacy to enhance community lives.
The Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering services and support to and hard of hearing individuals, as well as their families, throughout Island and the Gulf Islands.
Food bank provided by Mount Arrowsmith Salvation Army. Offering non-perishable food, fresh produce and dairy year-round to over 700 families and individuals monthly.
The Parksville Career Centre offers a number of programs to help members of the community find work. They have specific resources availably for persons with disabilities.
Since 1986, the Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society has been offering therapy to stroke survivors and support for caregivers in Oceanside, including Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and other nearby communities.
Rock Steady Boxing empowers individuals with Parkinson’s in Oceanside. Our unique program, inspired by professional boxing, offers non-contact fitness targeting key neurological areas.
This group is open to anyone living in the Oceanside community and the surrounding area who are affected by MS and looking for a space to share like experiences.
